Julie Gonzales, Assistant Manager
Julie has been with AlterClinic since September 2018. She hails from Magnolia, OH and, when she isn’t running the ship that is the AlterClinic front desk, she stays busy taking care of her own animals, including multiple dogs, cats, horses, pigs, and a donkey. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, swimming, and vacationing in the Caribbean.
Dr. Brian Wennerstrom, DVM
Dr. Brian has been with AlterClinic from the very beginning. He grew up in Canal Fulton and, after moving around the northeast Ohio area for a while, landed back in his hometown with his eight children and wife, Marnita. He has performed nearly 40,000 surgeries in the world of high volume spay and neuter but has been working with animals of all kinds dating back to 1998. In his free time, he enjoys analyzing spreadsheets and searching for more cost-effective ways of performing surgeries.
Laura Groves, Founder and Director of AlterClinic
Laura has been working for the company long before the first surgery in October 2018. The idea for an affordable spay/neuter clinic first entered her mind in January 2017. She has worked in the service industry her entire life, and when she’s not working, she is taking care of her human family of 7 and her fur family of 5.
Tammy Pierce, Lead Vet Assistant
Tammy has been with AlterClinic since January 2019. She grew up in Canton, but enjoys spending her time out of the city, enjoying nature. Aside from taking care of your animals on surgery day, she cares for her own pets, including cats, a dog, and a horse, as well as her human family!
Matalie Gonzales, Admin Assistant
Matalie has been with AlterClinic since January 2019 as an Admin Assistant. She currently attends Kent State and is working to become an RVT. When she isn’t working with all the cats and dogs that visit the clinic, she enjoys working with livestock and other large animals.
Hayley Chaney Murray, RVT
Hayley has been with AlterClinic since December 2019. She hails from Newcomerstown and graduated Kent State University in 2018. She has much experience working with animals prior to joining AlterClinic, having worked one year in general practice, two years in an ER, and as a lab assistant for the KSU vet tech program. In her free time, she enjoys music, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family, but specifically she enjoys playing guitar for her fur babies!
